Why do we need an AR-IoT Solution?
The speed of technological advancement is speeding up, and it is almost certain we will be transitioning to a new platform in a few years, that is even more portable, and more intuitive than using mobile phones. We think this new platform will be AR glasses. If AR glasses are going to replace smartphones, we will need a replacement for these interfaces that is similar, and better.
How are we making this AR-IoT solution?
We are building a VR experience that demonstrates a prototype of how virtual control interfaces (VCI) can change the way we discover, and interact with smart home devices. Project VCI VR will simulate real-life use cases of VCI in VR by using a simulated home that contains numerous simulated smart devices with VCI attached.
What is Virtual Control Interface (VCI) ?
Virtual Control Interface is a system that lets users interact with IoT devices using AR glasses through multimodal interactions. We incorporate hand gesture, eye tracking (gaze control), and voice recognition together as the input to control smart home devices, and provide visual feedback through AR Glasses' projecting screen.
